We had a decision to make last night based upon the weather forecast to either stay in Badachro another day, move on around 12 miles to Torridon Loch or go for Plockton, approximately 40 miles away. The forecast is fine for the morning but from around 1pm the wind is due to come up to Force 7 and the direction South Westerly is not good for Plockton.
We could make it down to Plockton, but the last half of the journey would not be pleasant. We also are not sure how sheltered we would be in Torridon and we would be at anchor. Always a greater concern in a high wind, also 12 miles in no great gain. So we have decided to stay put today on our nice mooring buoy.
Tomorrow the forecast is good for Plockton but a succession of Atlantic fronts over the next few days may mean we have to hole up again in the next few days. We shall see.
Last night we visited the Badachro Inn for dinner by dinghy and had a reasonable meal. Not up to the standard we had read about as it seems to have changed ownership recently, but the beer and wine were very good.
The sunset was fantastic and it stayed light until around 11.30/45pm.
